Choosing the Right Influencer Tier for Your Brand

Limra Media Team · 3 February 2026

One of the most common questions we get from brands is: should we work with a few big-name creators, or many smaller ones?

The honest answer is that it depends entirely on your campaign objective. Mega and macro influencers (500K+ followers) are excellent for broad awareness — they get your brand in front of the largest possible audience quickly.

Micro-influencers (10K–100K followers) tend to deliver stronger engagement rates and more authentic-feeling endorsements, which often translates to better conversion for direct-response campaigns.

Nano-influencers (under 10K followers) are underrated for hyper-local or niche campaigns — their audiences trust them like a friend, and costs per post are low enough to work with dozens of them at once.

In our experience running campaigns across all four tiers, the highest-ROI approach is usually a blend: 1-2 macro creators for reach, paired with 10-20 micro and nano creators for authentic, high-converting content.

The key is matching creator tier to funnel stage — mega/macro for top-of-funnel awareness, micro/nano for mid-to-bottom-funnel conversion and trust-building.
